A Tribute to Remington: The Scout

Introduction

The westward movement was of main importance in American heritage. In this piece, "A Tribute to Remington: The Scout," I have depicted scenes relating stages which were very important in the development of, and the movement toward, the West. The scout is surely the most courageous of our early west folk heroes. Through the use of pictorial realism, color, and the shapes of each dry point and etching, the assemblage rotates from an early period of time in the West until the white man started his dominance.
